Today begins the week-long countdown before the debut of New York’s newest rapper. PreshaNYC is gearing up to drop his first song called Ragz to Richez. The song speaks on both Presha’s past and his future. He raps about his come-up, emphasizing how he is a hustler who worked hard to earn his spot in the game, but makes it clear that this is just the beginning. While this is only his introduction, Presha already killed his cadence and delivery. His flow is effortless but still fully flushed out with lyricism at the center of his talent. Born and raised between Soundview & the Bronx River Projects of New York City the impact of the streets was inevitable. Priding myself for not only being from the motherland of Hip Hop, but also from the same blocks as iconic Puertorican Legend Big Pun, I decided to mold my knowledge into lyrics that represented my Puertorican, Dominican, and African American brothers & sisters. To me, Hip Hop is bigger than music; it's an opportunity that has saved lives, and cemented the legacy of warriors who've paved the way for him to have a voice.
Raised by a single mother who wanted a better life for her children my family would move from Bronx, New York to New Britain, Connecticut where I would grace the microphone in 2011. Falling in love with the creation of music I would study the work of my favorite rappers Lil Wayne, J Cole, and Eminem in hopes of morphing a complete, high quality sound without compromise. After a decade of development I have mastered my skill set and will execute something special on his debut single Ragz 2 Richez.
