Fresh Artist Fridays: Sly Spitta

rose up.jpeg

Brooklyn rapper Sly Spitta did not come to play with the release of his debut album “Rose UP”. The album is a love-letter to both Brooklyn and basketball. “$hot Clock” is the album’s lead single and it is not hard to hear why. The talent in Sly’s lyric delivery is what makes the song so enjoyable. His sing-songy flow pairs perfectly with the song’s cool beat. He keeps his raps in “$hot Clock” simple, but manages to build the song’s intensity with his strategic delivery.

Sly Spitta also dropped a music video for the single that you can watch here. The album’s basketball theme is showcased in the music video’s dope visuals and in all four of the album’s interludes. Other stand out tracks off the album include “AM-PM”, where Sly mellows out, and “End of Regulation” that leads into “OT”, where Sly levels up and lays down killer bars.

As Sly continues to expand his audience, check out his music through the links above and stay up to date by following @MrSlySpitta on social media platforms. Remember to follow Hip Hop Scriptures to stay updated on the latest Fresh Artist Friday.
