Fresh Artist Fridays: Call Me Ace

Call Me Ace is a star on the rise. The Connecticut-born, Bay Area transplant has talent that is hard to miss. In his latest single “Work Like That”, Ace raps about the journey of not only building a successful career, but also a fulfilling life. The lyrics are honest and forthcoming, reminding listeners that success and accolades only come after real, hard work. The inspiration behind the song comes from Call Me Ace’s life motto, “live a rich life instead of a life full of riches.” He lays his lines over a melodic, soothing beat - perfectly paralleling the song’s heavy lyrics. The music video features Ace rapping in an empty office building, once again alluding to his work ethic and dedication to his craft. His previous single, “No Assistance”, was equally as strong. The striking music video has beautiful visuals that mirror the song’s message: hustle. Call Me Ace makes it clear he is a dedicated artist, ready to do whatever it takes to remain motivated and focused. The song captured plenty of listeners, earning a feature in the official NBA 2K21 next-gen video game. His new album, Out Of Office, is set to drop later this month. According to Ace, the album, “will illustrate a myriad of sociocultural topics that affect dreamers of color who aspire to build a sustainable legacy that exceeds the returns of a conventional day-job.” Check out his music through the links above and keep up with Call Me Ace through his socials to make sure you never miss new music.
