Remembering DMX

The hip hop world lost another legend today. Rapper DMX passed away on April 9th from complications following an overdose. His sudden passing has triggered an outpouring of tributes from all over the music world. His family honored his legacy with an emotional statement, celebrities shared their touching personal experiences with him, and fans around the world played his music all day in his memory. Today, DMX’s impact was felt by all who enjoyed and loved his music. May he rest in peace knowing his legacy will live on forever through the love his fans have for him and his long career as a hip hop pioneer.

DMX originally rose to fame while being managed by Ruff Ryders, and eventually became a multi-platinum star signed to Def Jam Recordings in the late-1990s. After DMX's success, the Ruff Ryders started its own label imprint through Interscope Records. DMX would go on to be nominated for 3 Grammy Awards, sell millions of records, and have 5 #1 albums on the Billboard Charts.
