October 16th – Run-DMC release their fifth album, “Back From Hell”, on Profile Records, on this day in 1990.
“Back From Hell” would see the legendary Hollis Crew take a foray into the New Jack Swing musical style and even feature singer Aaron Hall of New Jack Swing legends Guy, as a guest on the album.
Ice Cube and Public Enemy’s Chuck D would also be featured on a remix of the title track.
The album produced the hit singles “The Ave.” and “Faces” as well as the classic anti-drug anthem hit “Pause”, which would also mark the group’s legendary DJ Jam Master Jay’s rapping debut (via RAP Station). #RunDMC #hiphoplegends
